Anyone interested in ride to meet other members in Northeast?

I've been riding motorcycles for many years however am fairly new to the BMW world. I ride a R1150GS and enjoy the rides more than the destinations. However, I would like to meet up with some other BMW Riders. I Live near Rome, NY and have not had any luck locating any BMW Groups that are at all active in my area. Are there any other vets within a couple/few hundred miles of Rome, NY that would like to go for a ride and maybe coffee and conversation?

Hi Trapper,

Are you into the rally scene? If so, the RA national rally in Vermont this summer will be a great opportunity to meet some other riders (local or otherwise), as will the Finger Lakes rally. I plan to hit both of these events and there will surely be more than a few vBMWr members in attendance. Also, if BMW MOA does Color in the Catskills again this year, you might want to check that out.

Speaking of MOA, have you checked that forum yet? If not, you should surf on over to the MOA's Northeast regional forum at http://www.bmwmoa.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=49 and take a look. I know there is at least one recent thread there about some folks trying to form a BMW club in Syracuse, which would certainly meet your ""couple/few hundred miles of Rome" criteria.

And last, but by no means least, our very own, Paul Bachorz, esteemed vBMWr member and newly elected RA Trustee (congrats, Paul!) might be able to put you in touch with some other riders in that neck of the woods.

Have not been to any Rallys, yet. I tend to avoid very large gatherings; however, I am so close to the RA Rally in VT that I already rode over to check out the site. So, I plan to be there. I talked with Paul a couple weeks ago and plan to see if we can meet in the near future. I'll check out the MOA forum as you suggested. Thanks
